「ZAPPETO｜ザペット」のコンセプトは“居場所をつくる”お気に入りの椅子、2人で語り合うベンチ、晴れた日には気持ちのよい風が通り抜ける縁側やウッドデッキ...いつでも、どこでも、そこに置くだけで時には自分だけの時には人々が集まってくる。そんな“居場所”をつくります。
“ZAPPETO” is a rug designed from an architectural perspective, rethinking how the rug is used within a space - as a “furniture rug.” It is a new form of an area rug utilizing a long-established Japanese hand-tufting technique.

    One of the design features is that the center is slightly indented for sitting comfort.It is a rug that creates a “dedicated comfort space” to do what you want, whenever and wherever.

    天然素材のやわらかい手触り感。それは、日本の素足の文化から。体へのやさしさ、触り心地のよいやわらかさにこだわり、選び抜いた100%ウール。追求したのは、なめらで肌触りの良い質感です。カセ染めという技法により原糸に負担をかけないよう丁寧に染色し乾かす為、本来の風合いや柔らかさを損ないません。四季が移ろう豊かな自然の中で育まれた感性が美しい色彩を表現します。

    Our love for soft, natural materials come from our culture of being barefoot. We carefully select 100%wool that are gentle to the skin and soft to touch. Smoothness that makes you want to lie down - this is the ultimate texture that we pursue.We also use a technique known as "hank dyeing" to dye & dry our thread carefully, minimizing the stress on the thread and preserving the material's original texture and softness. Our sensitivity to the abundance of nature and the four seasons is expressed in a gorgeous variety of colors.

坊垣 祐司　Yuji Bogaki

一級建築士
 architect / chief of wacca architects
京都工芸繊維大学 造形工学科にて建築/デザインを学んだ後に渡伊、イタリア・ミラノにてSergio Brioschi(セルジオ・ブリオスキ)デザイン事務所に勤務。ArflexJapanとの家具プロジェクトやチェルサイエ展(ボローニャ)でのプロダクト/空間デザイン設計に携わる。
帰国後、建材関連企業にて商品企画/デザイン設計を経験、のちにstudio acca一級建築士事務所にて建築設計業務に従事。
2014 wacca architects 設立
After studying at the Kyoto Institute of Technology Department of Architecture & Design, moved to Milan, Italy and took a position at Sergio Brioschi Design; cooperated in furniture projects with Arflex Japan and product & space design planning for the Cersaie International Exhibition (Bologna).
Upon return to Japan, worked in product planning & design at a building materials manufacturer.
In 2014, founded wacca architects.
